Happy World Spring and Labor Day!

Originally in Russia, until 1917, the Spring meeting was celebrated with festive celebrations, family and friendly trips to nature - "Maёvka" - timed on a calendar to coincide with the first days of May.
However, at the beginning of the 20th century in the form of puppets began to be held illegal meetings of revolutionary-minded workers who celebrated on that day "their awakening to light and knowledge, their unification into a fraternal union for the struggle against all oppression, <...> for the socialist order of society". (from the proclamation "First May", written by V. I. Lenin in 1905 in Geneva and published as a separate leaflet).
In 1917, a number of cities in Russia celebrated First May with the participation of clergy.
In the RSFSR, the holiday was originally called "International Day". In the USSR - "Day of International Workers' Solidarity".
From 1 May 1918, there were workers' demonstrations and military parades. There were no parades in 1942-1944. The last May Day parade was held in 1968.
In 1992, it was officially renamed the "Festival of Spring and Labor" in Russia, celebrated as a state. Usually used to hold political actions under its slogan by trade unions, parties and movements of various orientations.
As the "International Workers' Solidarity Day" on 1 May every year, communists, anarchists and other organizations from different countries celebrate.
